About Me and this One-Woman Act
How I started over at age 45, ditched my career in office management, and fulfilled my lifelong dream of launching my own stationery company.
Hi! I’m Cara.
Five years ago, I decided to launch CG Stationery Studio as my big, one-woman act.
Or I guess you could say my second act.
I founded this company of mine in 2018, just a year after losing my job of seventeen years.
The layoff was an unexpected blow to say the least, but it was one of the best things that could’ve ever happened to me — after attempting two more jobs in general bookkeeping post-layoff, I finally accepted that I didn’t want to waste another second not doing what I love.
CGSS was born out of a lifelong passion for creating, and I couldn’t be any happier using my art to create bespoke custom event stationery for clients in New England and beyond. My niche is watercolors, but I design personalized stationery for every occasion: Whether you’re getting married, celebrating a sweet 16, or throwing a holiday party, I can help.
Everyone has a vision for their special day, and my job is to make sure it translates on paper exactly the way you’ve imagined!
Sometimes We’re a Two-Women Act
I handle everything involving stationery design, but I am not a one-woman act all the time!
I’m so lucky to share part of CG Stationery Studio with my favorite person in the world: My daughter Ava. She is earning her bachelor’s in public relations (lucky me!) so she helps with my branding, social media, and copywriting.
Sharing CGSS with her has made what I do that much more special to me and I can’t wait to see what else we’ll accomplish on this journey together.
